Education at Christ the King Academy: Grades 7-12

Secondary School Programs

Our Secondary program fosters a rigorous academic environment that emphasizes intellectual curiosity, ethical leadership, and a strong sense of personal and social responsibility. As students transition into adolescence and prepare for post-secondary education, our program supports them through a holistic approach rooted in academic excellence, Christian faith-based values, and personal development.

The curriculum is designed to meet and exceed the Ontario Ministry of Education standards, with a comprehensive offering in core subjects such as Mathematics, Sciences, English, French, Social Studies, and Christian Religious Education. In addition to these academic foundations, students have access to specialized electives that cultivate creativity, technological fluency, and global awareness. Subjects such as philosophy, digital literacy, financial literacy, and environmental studies are integrated to foster a well-rounded worldview.

Our teaching approach combines direct instruction with inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to ask questions, engage critically with content, and take ownership of their learning journey. Assignments and projects are designed to reflect real-world applications, often incorporating cross-curricular integration, collaborative work, and presentations that build both confidence and communication skills.

Beyond academics, the program places a strong emphasis on leadership development, service learning, and moral formation. Students are regularly invited to participate in community initiatives, mentorship opportunities, and school-wide events that reflect Christian social teaching and promote solidarity, compassion, and justice.

The secondary program supports students as they navigate important decisions about their education and future. We provide resources and guidance to help with academic planning, career exploration, and preparing for further education. Students have opportunities to develop practical skills through various workshops and participate in activities that foster personal growth, peer connection, and community involvement. Faith and values remain an integral part of the experience, helping students build a foundation for responsible and meaningful lives.

As students complete the Secondary program, they graduate with a strong academic foundation and the essential skills to navigate future challenges, guided by Christian values that inspire them to serve others with compassion, integrity, and faith throughout their lives.
